Questions

Everything people ask before the first cut

What does a visit cost?

It depends on lot size and how often we come. Every week, every other week and a single visit are each priced per visit by lot size, from a condo strip to a large lot. Slopes, stairs, tall grass and gates can change the price, and we text you the number before the first visit.

How soon can you start, and how long does a visit take?

Tell us your address and we text back a route day and a two-hour window. A small city lot takes about 30 to 40 minutes. Larger lots take longer, and the first cut on a long lawn can take twice that.

Are you licensed and insured?

We hold a Seattle business license and carry general liability insurance. The license line is in the footer of every page, and we send a certificate of insurance on request before work starts.

What happens when you look at my yard?

We measure from aerial photos and the street, then text you a written price for your lot. If something looks off, like a steep bank or a locked gate, we ask for a photo before we quote.

How do I pay?

We bill per visit by card, through a link we text you after the cut. Skipped visits are not billed. We do not ask for a deposit on a mowing plan.

What if it rains, or the lawn is frozen?

We mow in light rain and move the visit to the next dry day when the grass is too wet to cut cleanly. In the cold months the lawn rests, and your plan pauses until the first spring cut. We text you when your day moves.

What should I do before you arrive?

Pick up toys, hoses and pet waste, and unlock the gate. For a condo or townhome, send us your building's posted hours and any gate code or entry rules.

Which areas do you serve?

Seattle, plus Lake Forest Park, SeaTac, Normandy Park, Medina and Clyde Hill. Your route day follows your neighborhood. The service area page lists them.

How loud are your machines, really?

The levels on our home page are rated figures from each maker's spec sheet, measured at the operator's ear. A battery machine is still audible, just lower and without the engine drone. We text the spec sheets on request.

Do I need to give you an outlet or a hose?

No. We bring charged batteries and spare packs, and we do not plug in at your place.

Are children and pets okay on the lawn after a visit?

We do not apply fertilizer or weed treatment on a mowing route, so there is nothing to wait out. If you hire a separate lawn-treatment company, follow its label for re-entry times.

How does the skip rule work?

Text us before 6 p.m. the day before your route day and that visit is skipped and not billed. Skipped visits do not carry a credit and do not shift your day.

How do I cancel a plan?

Text or call us. You pay for visits already done and nothing after. There is no cancellation fee, and no contract to sign.

Does a plan promise how my lawn will look?

No. A plan holds your place on a route day and covers the visits we make. It is not insurance on your lawn.

Can you work inside my building's allowed hours?

Yes, send them to us. We plan the route inside the hours a board, landlord or city rule sets, and tell you if a rule leaves us no workable day.

Do you cut in winter?

Most Seattle lawns rest from November to February. We offer fall leaf clean-up, and late-winter moss and thatch raking, priced by text after a look.

Ask for a route day

We text back a day, a window and a written price for your lot.
